AppViewX has strengthened its position in the security landscape by acquiring Eos, a company specializing in AI-native identity control for autonomous agents and workloads. This strategic move merges AppViewX’s established automated certificate lifecycle management (CLM) and public key infrastructure (PKI) with Eos’s governance and privileged access controls. The result is a unified platform designed to secure the rapidly expanding world of machine and AI agent identities within complex cloud and hybrid IT environments.
A significant leadership transition accompanies this acquisition. Archit Lohokare, the founder and CEO of Eos, has been appointed as the new CEO of AppViewX. He succeeds Dino DiMarino, who has departed to explore new opportunities. Lohokare brings over twenty years of cybersecurity expertise, particularly in identity, data, and endpoint security. Before founding Eos, he was a key leader at CyberArk, playing a central role in developing their Identity Security Platform. His deep background is expected to steer AppViewX’s strategic expansion in the AI and quantum computing era.
“AI agents now operate with significant autonomy inside organizations, often holding privileged access to critical data and systems,” noted Archit Lohokare, CEO of AppViewX. “Identity forms the essential control plane for this new reality. As businesses deploy these agents at scale, they require a consolidated governance layer that provides consistent visibility and policy enforcement. By integrating our machine identity leadership with Eos’s AI-native capabilities, we are creating the next-generation platform that allows enterprises to innovate with both confidence and security.”
The integration extends to the technology leadership as well. Kashyap Ivaturi, former CTO of Eos, will now serve as the CTO of AppViewX. Madhu Venkatarajan, the current AppViewX CTO, will transition to the role of Chief Engineering Officer and General Manager of India Operations. In this capacity, he will focus on enhancing engineering processes, speeding up product delivery, and bolstering the company’s innovation hub in India. Ivaturi’s experience in building secure, scalable SaaS platforms at companies like CyberArk and ServiceNow will be instrumental in accelerating AppViewX’s product innovation and AI-focused development roadmap.
Industry observers recognize the logic behind the merger. “The identity-driven attack surface grows exponentially as companies scale their use of AI agents and autonomous workloads,” stated Ian Loring, Senior Managing Director at Haveli Investments. “AppViewX already leads in machine identity management, and adding Eos accelerates its transformation into a unified governance platform for machines and AI workloads. We believe this combination, under Archit’s and Kashyap’s leadership, establishes AppViewX for sustained category leadership and growth.”
The urgency for such a platform is echoed by security practitioners. “AI agents represent a completely new class of identity, and their swift adoption introduces novel risks,” explained John Barrow, a Chief Information Security Officer. “Their behavior can be unpredictable. Mitigating risk demands that we monitor, audit, and control their privileged access while automating their lifecycle governance. The convergence of AppViewX’s Machine Identity Security platform with Eos’s AI agent Identity Security platform creates a compelling solution, positioning AppViewX at the forefront of this critical security domain.”
This acquisition builds upon AppViewX’s existing market recognition, which includes leadership positions in the IDC MarketScape for Certificate Lifecycle Management and the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Non-Human Identity Management.
