Apple has seeded iOS 27 beta 4 to developers today, and the update introduces a practical new capability for the Apple TV app: Automatic Downloads. This feature is designed to keep your next episodes ready for offline viewing, so you never have to stop and wait.

The option, first noticed by Aaron Perris, appears in the TV section of the Settings app. Once toggled on, the system will automatically download the next two episodes of any show you have in progress under Continue Watching. After you finish an episode, it deletes itself to save space.

The next 2 episodes of shows you start in Continue Watching will automatically download, then delete once you finish,” Apple explains in the release.

To activate the feature in iOS 27 beta 4, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app. This is a smart addition for anyone who streams on the go. The real test, of course, will be how reliably it works in practice. I’ll be monitoring it closely as I continue testing the beta.Have you found any other hidden changes in iOS 27 beta 4?
