Apple’s iOS 27 Siri auto-deletes chats, may launch as beta

Apple is preparing to introduce its first-ever standalone Siri application as part of the upcoming iOS 27 update, and it will come with a notable privacy-focused feature: automatic chat deletion. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, the new app will allow users to set conversations to auto-delete after 30 days, one year, or keep them indefinitely.

This auto-delete mechanism draws clear inspiration from the existing Messages app, giving users greater control over their interaction history with the voice assistant. The move signals Apple’s continued emphasis on user privacy and data minimization, especially as Siri evolves into a more independent platform.
