iOS 27: Everything We Know About the New Siri App

For the first time ever, Apple is introducing a standalone Siri app as part of the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates. This marks a significant shift from the current system, where Siri operates as a voice-activated overlay without its own dedicated interface. The new app will offer users a persistent, visual space to interact with the assistant, review past requests, and manage settings more intuitively.

According to sources familiar with the development, the Siri app will function as a central hub for all voice interactions. Users can browse through a chronological log of their commands, revisit results, and even edit or refine previous requests without repeating them from scratch. This design aims to make Siri more transparent and useful for tasks like setting reminders, checking weather forecasts, or controlling smart home devices.

The app will also feature a customizable interface that allows users to pin frequently used actions, such as sending a message or starting a timer, for quick access. Additionally, Apple is reportedly integrating deeper third-party app support, enabling Siri to handle more complex workflows across different services. For example, users could ask Siri to order a ride, book a reservation, and send a confirmation message all within the same session.

On macOS 27, the Siri app will appear as a floating window that can be resized and repositioned, offering a more desktop-friendly experience. On iPadOS 27, it will support Split View and Slide Over, allowing users to multitask with Siri alongside other applications.

Apple plans to unveil these operating systems at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with public betas expected shortly after.
