– The Galaxy Note 7 was recalled twice due to battery issues causing explosions, and Samsung later reused its design and parts to create the Galaxy Note FE.
– The Galaxy S26 FE has the model number SM-S741 and features a rear camera bump resembling a “Traffic Light” module.
– The Galaxy S26 FE will use last year’s flagship Exynos processor, not the newer 2nm Exynos 2600 with advanced cooling.
– Rumored specs for the Galaxy S26 FE include a 6.7-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 8GB RAM, up to 512GB non-expandable storage, and a 4900-5000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
– The Galaxy S26 FE supports Qi 2 wireless charging version 2.2.1, enabling up to 25W speeds and improved magnetic alignment to reduce heat.

The first Galaxy phone to carry an FE badge was a phoenix rising from literal flames. Remember the Galaxy Note 7? It was a gorgeous device with a design many adored, but its battery issues made it infamous for overheating and, in some cases, catching fire. After two recalls, Samsung salvaged the remaining components and created the Galaxy Note FE, a fan edition that let a great design live on.

Now, Samsung is bringing that spirit of refinement to the Galaxy S26 FE. The phone bears the model number SM-S741 and features a rear camera module that resembles a “Traffic Light” layout. This design is similar to the base Galaxy S26, though the bump sits closer to the top edge and side. As with previous FE models, this one targets the entry-level flagship market, but it comes with a familiar trade-off: the processor is typically one generation old.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to run on last year’s flagship Exynos chipset, not the cutting-edge 2nm Exynos 2600. That newer processor boasts Gate-All-Around transistor architecture and a Heat Pass Block for superior cooling, but the FE will rely on the previous-gen silicon to keep costs down.

According to the latest leaks, the Galaxy S26 FE will sport a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,900 nits of peak brightness. It will pack 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB, though there is no microSD slot. Powering the device is a battery between 4,900 mAh and 5,000 mAh, supporting 45W wired fast charging.

On the wireless side, a WPC listing reveals that the phone supports Qi 2 version 2.2.1, which enables 25W wireless charging. This version, introduced last July, also improves magnetic alignment to center the charging coils perfectly, reducing heat buildup during faster wireless charging sessions. The Galaxy S26 FE looks poised to deliver a polished, practical flagship experience without the premium price tag.
