Bethesda has confirmed it is actively working on a significant update for Fallout 76, targeting a release window in the first week of February. This planned patch aims to resolve a collection of problems that emerged following the game’s most recent weekly update, which itself was intended to fix various quest, localization, and armor issues. The development team is currently compiling a list of topics based on direct player reports and community feedback to address in the forthcoming fix.

One of the most pressing issues has already prompted immediate action. The Weekly Raid Challenge has been temporarily disabled after players reported it was automatically completing itself, which prevented them from legitimately earning the associated rewards. This problem is now a priority for the developers as they prepare the larger corrective update.

The known issues list for the upcoming patch includes several technical bugs affecting gameplay and progression. Players have encountered an empty Build Menu when certain skins are applied to the C.A.M.P. Module, and the “New” category in the Pip-Boy has been behaving unpredictably. Other confirmed problems involve specific events like Grunt and Head Hunts only spawning 1-Star enemies, and items purchased with Gold Bullion failing to appear in the C.A.M.P. Additionally, Cryo status effects and damage are currently not applying to enemies correctly.

The team is also investigating broader reports, such as armor resistances not functioning unless the armor pieces are re-equipped, and a general sense from the community that characters feel unexpectedly “squishier” when battling foes in the Burning Springs region. Alongside these bug fixes, Bethesda clarified a couple of changes that were not included in the original update notes. A new 4-Star Legendary Mod called “Charged” has been added to items from the Gleaming Depths raid. This melee-exclusive modification allows the weapon to build up an explosive charge with primary attacks, which can then be released with a power attack. Furthermore, the Dom Pedro weapon has received two new mods, a Reflex Sight and a Long Barrel, available to all owners of the item.

The resurgence in popularity for the Fallout franchise, fueled by the successful second season of Amazon’s television adaptation, has brought renewed attention to the online game. As the show’s characters continue their journey through the wasteland, Bethesda is focused on ensuring the game experience remains stable and engaging for both new and returning players. While the early February timeframe is the current target, the studio has not yet committed to a specific release date for the corrective update.
