Perplexity is bringing its agentic AI capabilities to Windows, transforming the world’s most widely used operating system into a powerful, locally run digital assistant. Following the Mac version launched in April, the new Personal Computer for Windows tool acts as a “general-purpose digital worker” that can directly interact with your local files and applications. It can handle tasks like drafting documents or updating spreadsheets on your behalf, all while running natively on your machine.
This latest release extends the Personal Computer integrations that Perplexity first introduced for Microsoft’s 365 workspace apps and Teams in May. The company explains that the Windows version is designed to close a critical gap: much of the enterprise work that an agentic tool is meant to handle happens locally on Windows devices, often “out of AI’s reach.” The press release emphasizes that this tool operates directly within the Windows environment to address that very issue.
“Now Microsoft users can ask Computer to work across their local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web in one place,” Perplexity stated. “It’s built for the often messy way enterprise work gets done on local machines.”
The rollout begins today for paying subscribers on the Max and Enterprise Max plans, which start at $200 per month.
