Samsung Movingstyle M7 Review: Portable Screen on Wheels

▼ Summary
– The author and their wife watch movies on a laptop because they don’t own a TV and don’t want one in their living room.
– The Samsung Movingstyle 32 is a 32-inch 4K monitor on a wheeled stand, designed to be moved into a room when needed and stored away.
– The monitor is a pre-existing Samsung display packaged with the adjustable stand and base, and it also comes with the standard monitor stand.
– The product arrives in a large, heavy box, with most of the weight coming from the base, which balances the monitor on five hidden caster wheels.
– The Movingstyle can be easily wheeled to different locations, such as in front of a couch, dining table, or kitchen, and could also be useful in an office.
I have never owned a television. Over the years, plenty of opportunities to buy one have come and gone, but my wife and I lack a dedicated theater room. Like many millennials, we simply did not want a bulky screen dominating our main living space.
This decision means we often find ourselves hunched together on the couch, squinting at a laptop screen to watch a movie. It feels like college all over again, and it is far from ideal.
That is why the Samsung Movingstyle 32 immediately caught my attention. A screen on wheels. A display that could roll into a room when needed and disappear into storage when the credits rolled. Suddenly, I saw a solution to our movie-night dilemma that did not require rearranging our entire home. While it is not a flawless product, the Samsung Movingstyle 32 offers a clever way to bring a large display into a space for exactly as long as you need it.
A Monitor on the Move
The concept of a rolling television is not groundbreaking. Portable TVs on carts have existed for years, but Samsung’s approach with the Movingstyle monitor feels genuinely fresh. For starters, this is actually a standard computer monitor, not a custom-built display for the stand. It is a 4K screen that already existed on the market, now bundled with an adjustable stand and wheeled base. That is not inherently a drawback, but it does mean the package also includes the original monitor stand and base. It is a strange inclusion, as I cannot imagine ever using the stock stand after buying the Movingstyle for its mobility.
Speaking of the packaging, the box is enormous. I initially thought a mistake had been made. Despite being just a 32-inch monitor, the box was large enough for a full-sized television. It was also surprisingly heavy. The Samsung Movingstyle 32 ships with everything pre-installed: the 32-inch 4K monitor and its rolling stand. Most of that weight comes from the base, which is critical for balancing the entire monitor assembly. The five caster wheels are cleverly hidden beneath it.
Need the screen positioned in front of the couch? Roll it over. Want it near the dining table or in the kitchen while you cook? Just wheel it there. I could also see this being incredibly useful in an office environment, though that is not my personal use case.
