After teasing the design at NAB 2026 last month with minimal specifications, Insta360 has officially unveiled and launched its new Mic Pro wireless microphone system, which brings several industry-first features to the table. Individual Mic Pro transmitters that pair directly with devices over Bluetooth are available for $99.99, while a full kit including two transmitters, a wireless receiver, and a charging case runs $329.99.
The transmitters themselves are noticeably bulkier than competing wireless mics, including Insta360’s own Mic Air. But that extra size houses two major upgrades. Each transmitter sports a 1.22-inch round E Ink screen capable of displaying six colors, allowing users to show logos, names, or unique identifiers when multiple units are in use. These screens retain their display even when the transmitters are powered off, and battery life is rated at up to 10 hours, extendable to 30 hours with the charging case.
Inside each transmitter sits a three-microphone array that, combined with onboard audio processing software, can emulate different pickup patterns. Mounted on a camera, they function like a shotgun mic to focus audio capture on subjects in front. Cardioid mode offers a tighter pickup ideal for voiceovers, while Figure-8 mode records sound from both front and back simultaneously, perfect for conversations.
Each transmitter also includes 32GB of internal storage for recording a stereo audio backup alongside whatever a connected device captures. The Mic Pro system works with most devices via its wireless receiver using USB-C or audio cables, but a direct Bluetooth connection simplifies pairing with smartphones or Insta360’s cameras, including the X5, Go Ultra, and Ace Pro 2.
