For homeowners seeking reliable energy independence and protection from power outages, Anker’s new Solix E10 system offers a scalable, whole-home battery backup solution. This entry into the competitive market provides an alternative to established players, aiming to keep essential appliances running during blackouts and potentially reduce monthly electricity costs. The system is designed to grow from powering a few critical devices to supporting an entire household’s energy needs.
The starting point is the $4,299 E10 Base System, which includes one Power Module inverter and one modular battery. The inverter itself weighs over 110 pounds and delivers a continuous output of 7.68 kilowatts, with a peak capability of 28.8 kilowatts when using a single 6-kilowatt-hour battery. This surge power is sufficient to start demanding appliances like a large air conditioning unit. By adding more batteries, the peak output increases, and connecting multiple E10 units together can create a system with tremendous surge capacity to handle major electrical loads.
A fully expanded configuration with three maxed-out systems can manage significant solar input and store up to 90 kilowatt-hours of energy. To put that in perspective, since the average American home uses roughly 29 kilowatt-hours daily, such a setup could theoretically power a house for about three days using only battery reserves. For most households, however, that level of storage is excessive and costly. The practical approach is to begin with a simpler system focused on backing up the most important circuits.
Anker facilitates this through two professionally installed options. The first is the Power Dock, a new electrical panel that provides intelligent, automatic control over up to twelve circuits, switching to backup power in less than twenty milliseconds. The second, more basic option is the Smart Inlet, which requires manual intervention during an outage. Both methods allow homeowners to tailor their backup coverage to match their budget and needs.
Complementing the battery units is a new tri-fuel Smart Generator. This weather-resistant unit can run on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. It is designed to activate automatically to recharge the batteries or provide power during extended outages, and it will notify the owner when maintenance is required.
The company is promoting a streamlined installation process for the complete E10 ecosystem. Preorders are now available, with official sales commencing in early February. Beyond the base package, adding the Smart Inlet increases the price to $4,599, while opting for the Power Dock panel brings it to $5,799. A comprehensive kit that includes the base system, the Smart Generator, and the Power Dock is priced at $7,399.
