The latest robotic vacuum from Narwal, the Flow 2, arrives with a clever trick up its sleeve: it can spot and avoid small valuables you’ve dropped on the floor. This successor to the original Flow model features a redesigned look and a novel scanning mode that actively searches for items like jewelry, phones, wallets, or keys. When the Flow 2 identifies one of these objects, it automatically maintains a safe distance of at least five centimeters to ensure it doesn’t get sucked into the vacuum.
This smart detection doesn’t stop there. The device sends a notification directly to the companion smartphone app, complete with a photograph of the found item and its precise location plotted on a map of your home. Narwal credits this capability to an advanced AI system powered by dual RGB cameras, which offer a wide 136-degree field of view for what the company calls “unlimited” object recognition. It’s an impressive feature, though it’s worth noting you cannot actively command the robot to go hunt for a specific lost item; it only identifies objects during its standard cleaning cycles.
The Flow 2 also introduces specialized modes tailored for households with pets and young children. The robot can send reminders when it notices toys left out, skillfully avoid play mats, and automatically switch to a quiet mode as it approaches a baby’s crib. For pet owners, it offers the ability to locate your animal while you’re out and can identify and perform a deep clean on the areas your pet frequents most.
Beyond these intelligent features, the Narwal Flow 2 boasts significant hardware upgrades. Suction power sees a substantial boost to 30,000 Pascals, a notable increase from the 22,000Pa offered by the first-generation Flow. Its mopping function now utilizes hot water heated to 158 degrees Fahrenheit for a more thorough clean. Similar to the previous model, it will be available with a choice of docking stations: a basic version with a water tank or a more advanced model with automatic water refilling and dirty water drainage. A key improvement for the Flow 2’s docks is the inclusion of a reusable dust bag alongside the standard washable and disposable debris filters.
Narwal has announced that the Flow 2 will become available in April 2026. Pricing details for the new robovac have not yet been released.
