Ahead of the CES 2026 showcase, LG has revealed its next-generation UltraGear evo gaming monitor series, a premium brand featuring three flagship models designed to push the boundaries of resolution, refresh rate, and display technology. The initial lineup includes the 27GM950B, 39GX950B, and 52G930B, all offering 5K resolution with integrated AI enhancements on the two smaller screens.

Positioned as a groundbreaking display, the UltraGear evo 27GM950B is touted as the world’s first 5K Mini LED gaming monitor. LG engineered this model to tackle the persistent issue of blooming often found in high-resolution Mini LED panels. It achieves this through an impressive array of 2,304 local dimming zones and a Zero Optical Distance design that minimizes the gap between the LEDs and the panel itself. This monitor operates in a Dual Mode, allowing users to switch between a 165 Hz refresh rate at native 5K and a blistering 330 Hz when set to a QHD resolution. With VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and a peak brightness reaching 1,250 nits, it promises exceptional contrast. The on-device AI suite includes 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound, all working to enhance image and audio in real-time without taxing the system’s GPU.

Moving to a larger, immersive format, the UltraGear evo 39GX950B features a 1500R-curved, 39-inch OLED panel with a 5K2K ultrawide resolution. This monitor leverages LG’s latest Tandem OLED technology, which promises significant improvements in brightness, color accuracy, and long-term panel durability while delivering the perfect blacks and vibrant colors OLED is known for. It shares the Dual Mode functionality of its smaller sibling, offering 165 Hz at 5K2K and 330 Hz at a WFHD resolution, alongside an incredibly fast 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. The same AI enhancement features for image and sound are also present in this model.

For console enthusiasts and those seeking a truly expansive view, LG presents the UltraGear evo 52G930B. This massive display claims the title of the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. It offers a refresh rate up to 240 Hz for exceptionally smooth gameplay and uses an unconventional 12:9 aspect ratio. LG explains this format provides the same vertical height as a standard 42-inch 16:9 display but with a 33 percent wider field of view compared to typical UHD monitors. A pronounced 1000R curvature is designed to wrap around the user’s peripheral vision, and with VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, it ensures vivid colors and deep contrast.

LG plans to announce detailed pricing and availability information during its CES 2026 presentation next month. In related news, the company confirmed it will begin global sales of the previously announced UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B) on the opening day of the event. That 27-inch model features LG’s 4th Gen Tandem OLED with Primary RGB Tandem tech, a QHD resolution, and a dual mode that can boost its native 540 Hz refresh rate to an astonishing 720 Hz at an HD resolution.
