For years, speculation has swirled around Samsung’s potential expansion of its flagship lineup. While the standard Galaxy S27, S27+, and S27 Ultra have been widely expected, the possibility of a fourth, entirely new model has remained just that , a rumor. That speculation has now been put to rest. Samsung has officially indicated that the fourth device will be called the Galaxy S27 Pro.
The confirmation comes from documents filed in the GSMA database. These records list three unannounced Samsung devices in development, carrying the model numbers SM-S956U, SM-S957B/DS, and SM-S958U. The SM-S956U is identified as the Galaxy S27+, while the SM-S957B/DS is explicitly named the Galaxy S27 Pro. The SM-S958U, as expected, is the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This data was first reported by Erencan Yılmaz of OVRPlus.
Prior to this, a device with the model number SM-S952U had already surfaced in the same database under the name Galaxy S27. Taken together, these filings strongly suggest that Samsung intends to launch four distinct Galaxy S27 models early next year. The lineup could be further expanded later in 2027 with a potential Galaxy S27 FE edition.
So what can we expect from the Galaxy S27 Pro? Based on leaks and industry chatter, the Pro model will share much of its core hardware with the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra. The key differentiator is its form factor. The S27 Pro is rumored to feature a more compact design, centered on a 6.5-inch (or roughly 6.47-inch) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Another significant omission is the S Pen, which is not expected to be included.
On the camera front, the S27 Pro is tipped to carry a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear setup is expected to be formidable: a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom.
