The UAE Space Agency has unveiled a groundbreaking digital services platform at GITEX Global 2025, representing a significant advancement in the nation’s push for digital transformation and streamlined governance. This new system is engineered to cut through bureaucratic red tape, offering investors, entrepreneurs, and emerging companies a single, unified portal for obtaining space licenses quickly and efficiently.

The platform operates through a straightforward four-step procedure. Users first register using their UAE PASS digital identity. Next, they complete and submit the necessary application forms. The agency then conducts its review process, and finally, upon approval, an instant digital licence is issued. This integrated digital framework replaces outdated paper-based methods, dramatically improving operational efficiency, ensuring greater transparency, and allowing for real-time tracking of application statuses.

His Excellency Eng. Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, characterized the launch as a pivotal achievement in their smart transformation journey. He stressed that the platform is a cornerstone of national initiatives to dismantle governmental bureaucracy while simultaneously establishing the UAE as a premier global center for space innovation.

Developed in alignment with the UAE Government’s overarching paperless strategy, the platform provides customized services specifically for start-ups and investors. Its design encourages innovation by operating within a supportive and clear regulatory environment. During its initial soft launch phase, the agency made history by issuing its very first digital licence to Space42. The company commended the system for its remarkable speed and intuitive, user-friendly design.

At the GITEX Global 2025 event, the UAE Space Agency conducted live demonstrations of its new digital services. Officials also took the opportunity to announce a series of forthcoming projects intended to bolster the UAE’s competitive standing in the international space industry. This strategic initiative is fully aligned with the long-term objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071 vision and the National Space Strategy 2030, reinforcing the country’s deep-seated commitment to cultivating a sustainable, knowledge-based economy driven by technological innovation.
