Xiaomi has officially unveiled the 17T and 17T Pro, two more affordable additions to its 17 series lineup. As is typical for the T-series, the emphasis here is on raw performance rather than camera prowess, and these models come equipped with the largest batteries Xiaomi has ever offered outside of China.
The standard Xiaomi 17T packs a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the 17T Pro goes even further with a massive 7,000mAh cell. In testing, the Pro model easily delivered up to two days of use on a single charge. While Xiaomi has fitted larger batteries in China-exclusive devices , the recent 17 Max boasts an 8,000mAh capacity , these are the biggest yet for its international portfolio, excluding those released under its sub-brand Poco.
Under the hood, both phones run on MediaTek Dimensity chipsets: the 8500-Ultra powers the 17T, while the 17T Pro uses the more powerful Dimensity 9500. Each comes with 12GB of RAM. The Pro model distinguishes itself further with a larger 6.83-inch display (compared to 6.59 inches), a smoother 144Hz refresh rate, support for wireless charging, and faster 100W wired charging.
Camera configurations are nearly identical across the two devices. Both feature a 50-megapixel, 5x telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The only difference is a slightly larger main sensor on the 17T Pro. After a few days with the Pro, the camera performance was enjoyable but clearly a step down from the standard Xiaomi 17, which shares the same main sensor but excels across its three other lenses. The 17T series is designed for users who prioritize a larger flagship experience with superior battery life and are willing to accept some trade-offs in camera quality.
Pricing for the European market starts at €749 (around $870) for the 17T, while the 17T Pro begins at €899 ($1,045). Both undercut the standard Xiaomi 17, which retails for €999.
