The free update for Resident Evil Requiem that was teased last week has officially arrived. Capcom confirmed the new content would launch after Golden Week in Japan, and it is now live for Nintendo Switch 2 players.

This patch introduces a minigame mode called Leon Must Die Forever, and it is available at no additional cost. To unlock it, you must first complete the main story campaign.

Here is how Capcom describes the new mode:

Leon Must Die Forever is now available as a free update to Resident Evil Requiem!

Once unlocked through story completion, this extra mode puts you in control of Leon across multiple stages. You will earn exclusive enhancer abilities along the way, creating a faster, more arcade-style experience that stands apart from the main game. The mode is built for replayability, pushing you to survive until the end and defeat the final boss before time runs out. Multiple difficulty settings are included, with an extreme high-difficulty option reserved for veterans. As the name suggests, death is frequent and permanent.

For those who have not yet jumped into Resident Evil Requiem, Nintendo Life awarded the title a nine out of ten stars in its review.
