Limited Run Games has officially unveiled its latest project, Rugrats: Retro Rewind, a compilation headed to Nintendo Switch. Fans can grab the digital edition on May 15, 2026, with physical copies arriving afterward.
This collection packs in six classic Rugrats titles, all starring the beloved babies from the ’90s. To modernize the experience, the package includes several quality-of-life enhancements: screen filters, save states, a rewind function, and a dedicated music player.
Here is a closer look at the games included:
The journey began in 1998 with Rugrats: Search for Reptar on the original PlayStation. That first adventure saw Tommy Pickles and his crew solving a jigsaw puzzle mystery. Next up is The Rugrats Movie, originally on Game Boy and Game Boy Color, which sends the babies on a mission to find the missing Dil Pickles. Rugrats: Time Travelers, a punchy platformer from 1999 for Game Boy Color, kicks off in a toy store with an irresistible time machine. Rugrats: Studio Tour, a 1999 action-adventure on PlayStation, has the gang exploring dangerous film sets. Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, available on Game Boy Color, PlayStation, and N64, brings the team to an exciting Parisian theme park. Finally, Rugrats: Castle Capers, released only for Game Boy Advance in 2001, tasks the babies with retrieving stolen toys from Angelica, who holds them hostage in a fortress-like playground.
Each classic title has been upgraded with new features designed for retro enthusiasts. You can customize the visuals with screen filters that replicate the warm glow of a CRT television. A save anywhere option ensures you never lose progress, while the rewind feature gives you a second chance during tricky moments. The included music player lets you enjoy the zappy soundtrack even when you are not actively playing.
Beyond the digital release, two physical editions are in the works. The standard physical edition includes the game and a printed booklet. The deluxe edition goes further with a PS1-inspired game case, a soundtrack, a Reptar puzzle piece keychain, and stickers. Pre-orders open on May 1, 2026.
