ZEDEDA Launches Edge Kubernetes App Flows for Automation

▼ Summary

– ZEDEDA has launched a full-stack edge Kubernetes-as-a-Service solution that automates the edge application lifecycle from packaging to observability.
– The solution extends ZEDEDA’s zero-trust architecture and offline resilience, supporting continuous operation in challenging edge environments with intermittent connectivity.
– It addresses the limitations of current Kubernetes tools by supporting bare-metal and GPU compute for edge AI applications and scaling across resource-constrained environments.
– Key capabilities include GitOps-based continuous delivery, adaptive observability, and consistent application deployment across distributed edge locations.
– The platform integrates security features like zero-trust validation and handles tens of thousands of devices and clusters to streamline intelligent workload deployment.

ZEDEDA has introduced a comprehensive edge Kubernetes-as-a-Service offering designed to bring cloud-native deployment simplicity to distributed edge settings. ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes App Flows automates the entire lifecycle of edge applications, covering everything from packaging and setup to delivery and monitoring, removing the need for manual cluster and application orchestration. This solution accommodates the bare-metal and GPU computing demands essential for edge AI use cases, including automated defect detection in manufacturing and predictive maintenance operations.

Built on ZEDEDA’s established edge platform, this integrated Kubernetes service inherits the platform’s zero-trust security model and ability to function reliably offline. It supports tens of thousands of devices and Kubernetes instances, maintaining continuous operation even in challenging field conditions where connectivity may be unreliable and physical risks are present.

According to Gartner projections, by 2028, 80% of custom software at the physical edge will run in containers, a dramatic increase from just 10% in 2023. However, existing Kubernetes workflow tools are generally built for cloud or data center environments and fall short when scaling across edge locations with limited resources and intermittent network access.

Said Ouissal, CEO of ZEDEDA, commented, “Our customers are demonstrating the potential of combining AI and distributed cloud-native applications with real-world edge conditions. Our new full-stack Kubernetes solution builds naturally on ZEDEDA’s award-winning edge platform, giving developers the agility and control they need to orchestrate experiences and infrastructure smoothly across all sites.”

ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes App Flows integrates GitOps-based delivery with the company’s zero-trust edge platform, enabling organizations to prioritize application development over infrastructure management.
