For medical sales teams, the difference between a successful product launch and a missed opportunity often lies in the quality of their conversations with healthcare providers. PraxisPro, a specialized sales coaching platform, has secured $6 million in seed funding to address this very challenge. The investment round was led by AlleyCorp, with participation from FlyBridge, South Loop Ventures, and Zeal Capital Partners. The company aims to transform how sales representatives in life sciences, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, are trained and prepared for critical client interactions.

The genesis of PraxisPro came from the firsthand experiences of its founders, Cam Badger and Bhrugu Giri. Badger began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative, expecting structured mentorship but encountering what he describes as fragmented training and inconsistent coaching. After advancing to a sales trainer role and later working at a medical startup, he connected with Giri. Together, they identified a widespread issue: many sales reps in the life sciences sector were underprepared, which ultimately hindered the adoption of new therapies. They founded PraxisPro in 2023 to create a solution, with its first product launching this year.

At its core, PraxisPro is an AI-powered platform that helps commercial teams practice and refine their communication skills. It develops small language models specifically trained on life science data, allowing the system to understand the nuanced context required for discussions with doctors and other providers. From this foundation, the company built an AI agent that acts as a practice partner, enabling sales reps to simulate real-world conversations, anticipate questions, and handle potential objections before ever meeting with a customer.

Badger, who serves as CEO, emphasizes that effective communication is not just about salesmanship but also about compliance and patient impact. Each life science company must ensure its sales messaging adheres to strict legal and regulatory frameworks. PraxisPro trains representatives to stay compliant while also empowering them to clearly articulate patient needs. “When commercial interactions with healthcare providers are ineffective, patients don’t get a fair shot at therapies that could meaningfully change their lives,” Badger explained. He believes that better-prepared sales teams directly contribute to getting innovative treatments into the hands of physicians faster, which benefits patients.

The platform operates as a standalone tool but can also integrate into existing enterprise software systems. Its conversational AI feature is designed around the typical sales process, where a representative might have 15 or more interactions with a single provider. By practicing these exchanges in a risk-free environment, reps can enter real meetings with greater confidence and competence.

While other AI role-playing tools exist in the market, Badger differentiates PraxisPro by its tight focus on the life sciences sector and its use of targeted, smaller data sets. This specialization allows for more relevant and precise training scenarios. The newly acquired $6 million in seed funding will be directed toward further research and development to enhance these capabilities.

For Badger, the mission is personal. Reflecting on his early career struggles, where he nearly lost his job before rising to become a top performer, he built the tool he wishes he had access to years ago. “If we can give commercial teams the ability to prepare, practice, and engage at a higher level, consistently and responsibly, then we’re not just improving commercial operations,” he said. “We’re helping ensure that innovative therapies reach the patients who need them most.”
