Amazon Prime: Add Items to Completed Orders

▼ Summary

Amazon has launched a new “Add to Delivery” feature for US Prime members, allowing them to add items to completed orders before delivery instead of creating a new order.
– The feature is available only on Amazon’s mobile app and mobile website and is limited to eligible items like electronics, clothing, books, and groceries.
– Eligible items display a blue “Add to delivery” button, and users can undo the action immediately if they change their mind or press it accidentally.
– Amazon introduced this feature for added convenience, aiming to adapt to how people shop for needs as they arise and help those who forget items after ordering.
– There are no extra shipping fees for last-minute added items, but a Prime membership is required, costing $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

For those moments when you realize you’ve forgotten something crucial just after placing an order, Amazon Prime’s new “Add to Delivery” feature offers a welcome solution. This recently expanded service allows US-based Prime members to include additional products with shipments that have already been confirmed but haven’t yet left the warehouse. Rather than creating a separate order and paying extra shipping fees, customers can now conveniently add eligible items directly to an existing delivery.

The option appears exclusively on Amazon’s mobile app and mobile website. When browsing products that qualify, such as electronics, apparel, books, and various grocery items, a distinctive blue “Add to delivery” button will display beneath the familiar yellow “Add to Cart” option. If your upcoming delivery is scheduled for later today or the following day, and the item is in stock locally, the blue button becomes active.

Selecting the button immediately includes the product in your pending shipment. Should you tap it by mistake or reconsider your purchase, a quick undo feature lets you remove the item right away. Amazon explains that the tool is designed to reflect real-world shopping habits, where needs often pop up unexpectedly after an initial purchase is made.

There are no extra delivery charges for these last-minute additions, though you must maintain an active Amazon Prime membership, priced at $14.99 monthly or $139 for an annual subscription. After undergoing testing with a limited group of Prime subscribers, the feature is now rolling out more broadly across the United States.
