Samsung has officially begun the rollout of its stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S23 series, extending the latest software experience to these popular devices. Following recent updates for the Galaxy S24, S24 FE, and S25 models, the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are now receiving the new firmware in South Korea, with a broader international release anticipated shortly.

The update is currently live in South Korea, carrying the firmware version S91xNKSU6EYI7. For those who participated in the beta testing program, the download size is approximately 450MB. Users installing the full stable version for the first time can expect a larger file, around 3GB in size.

Galaxy S23 owners in South Korea can manually check for the availability of the update by going into their phone’s Settings, selecting ‘Software update,’ and then tapping ‘Download and install.’ Once the download completes, selecting ‘Install now’ will initiate the process, after which the device will automatically restart.

The global rollout is expected to continue over the coming days, though the specific release date will vary by country and carrier. Not all regions will receive the update simultaneously.

Built on the foundation of Android 16, One UI 8 introduces a host of new and refined capabilities. A more secure version of Secure Folder enhances privacy, while a new DeX experience leverages Android 16’s native Desktop Mode for improved productivity. The Samsung Internet web browser has been completely redesigned for better usability, and the Quick Share feature has been revamped.

Several core applications have also been upgraded. Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders now offer superior management tools. The Modes and Routines feature gains new actions and conditions for greater automation. Within the Camera app, a new gesture provides faster access to quick controls. Furthermore, Bluetooth Auracast audio casting support has been improved, and the Weather app boasts an enhanced design with more detailed and visually appealing graphics.
