Huawei Egypt has signed an agreement with Fresh International School of Applied Technology to launch the country’s first Huawei ICT Academy inside an applied technology school. A memorandum of understanding formalises the collaboration, which will deliver specialised instruction in artificial intelligence, data science, and other emerging fields. Students and faculty will also have access to international certification tracks and updated learning resources aimed at strengthening the connection between technical curricula and the demands of Egypt’s ICT job market.

The initiative represents a first for Huawei’s ICT Academy programme in Egypt, which has traditionally focused its network on higher education and public-sector partners. By entering the applied technology space, the company is engaging students at an earlier stage of their training and building a more direct pathway from vocational schooling into technology careers.

William Jung, head of external relations, government affairs, and strategic communications at Huawei Egypt, emphasised that aligning education with labour-market needs is critical for preparing students to succeed in real-world work settings.

Training at the new academy will centre on AI and data science, alongside other fast-evolving technologies. Both learners and instructors can pursue Huawei certification routes and use educational materials designed to blend theoretical foundations with hands-on technical experience. The company describes the programme as part of a broader push to create sustainable talent pipelines that support Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.

Huawei reports that it has already established more than 187 ICT Academies across Egypt, working with over 56 universities and government entities. These academies offer technology training and certification that bridge academic study and industry practice. The Fresh International School partnership extends that model into a new segment of the education system and ties into Huawei Egypt’s wider ICT Talent Bank initiative, which aims to equip young people for tech-sector employment.

Egypt has been actively expanding its technical and applied education offerings, seeking to produce graduates whose skills align more closely with employer needs. The memorandum was signed by Asmaa Serag El-Din, executive director of Huawei ICT Academies Egypt, and Maged George, executive director of Fresh International School of Applied Technology. Senior representatives from both organisations attended the ceremony.
