Gemini Intelligence spotted on Pixel 10 in Android 17 Beta

▼ Summary
– Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5 is a bug-fix release that includes the Gemini Intelligence logo.
– The Pixel 10 Pro Fold shows a new boot screen with the Gemini Intelligence logo and a gradient ‘G’ on its outer display.
– The Gemini Intelligence branding is exclusive to the 2025 foldable and does not appear on other Pixel devices in this beta.
– No actual Gemini Intelligence features, such as Create My Widget or Gboard Rambler, are present in Beta 5.
– The logo’s appearance is likely an oversight, and it is unclear if Gemini Intelligence will undergo beta testing before its summer launch.
Google has just pushed out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5, and while the update is largely a bug-fixing release, it carries one notable surprise: the appearance of the Gemini Intelligence logo.
On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a revamped boot screen now displays the Gemini Intelligence branding at the bottom. Just above it, the familiar ‘G’ logo has been updated to its gradient version. Interestingly, this new visual only shows up on the outer display, not the internal folding screen.
So far, the 2025 foldable is the only device to feature this Gemini Intelligence mark. Installing Beta 5 on the standard Pixel 10 or Pixel 10 Pro did not produce the same result. The same goes for the Pixel 10a, though that absence is less surprising given its lower-tier positioning.
Despite the branding, none of the actual Gemini Intelligence capabilities are present in this beta. Features like Create My Widget, Gboard Rambler, and expanded app automation remain absent.
This appearance is likely an oversight on Google’s part, but it raises questions about whether Gemini Intelligence will see any beta testing before its anticipated launch this summer on Pixel and Samsung devices.
