Pebblebee has launched a new personal safety device, the Halo, building on the protective features introduced in its Clip tracker last year. This larger, more capable tracker is now available for $59.99 directly from Pebblebee, with Amazon sales beginning April 20. While it remains fundamentally a location tracker compatible with either Apple’s Find My network or Google’s Find Hub, its enhanced design incorporates several features aimed directly at user security.
The Halo is notably bigger than an AirTag or the company’s own Clip, roughly the dimensions of two AA batteries. This size accommodates a more powerful rechargeable battery, rated for up to a year of use, and a brighter built-in flashlight. Its most significant safety innovation is a pull-apart design that, when the two halves are separated, instantly activates a piercing 130-decibel siren and a bright 150-lumen strobe light. This immediate, loud, and visual alert is intended to deter a threat and draw attention from bystanders.
Beyond the physical alarm, the Halo integrates with Pebblebee’s digital safety platform. The free Safety Circle feature sends an SMS with a secure location link to a chosen contact when an alert is triggered. For continuous monitoring, the device supports Alert Live, a subscription service that shares the tracker’s live location with up to five trusted people. A 12-month subscription to Alert Live is included with purchase, after which it costs $24.99 annually.
Recognizing that a loud alarm isn’t always the safest response, Pebblebee has included a silent trigger option. This allows a user to discreetly activate the Safety Circle or Alert Live features, sending location data to contacts without activating the siren or strobe light, providing a critical tool for situations requiring caution.
