Apple HomePod mini, iPad mini, and Apple TV 4K Leaked

Apple is preparing to expand its hardware lineup before the year concludes, following the recent launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and the folding iPhone Duo. According to code analysis by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, the upcoming releases will feature a second-generation HomePod mini, the iPad mini 8, and an updated Apple TV 4K. While specific technical specifications remain largely under wraps, visual leaks and internal data provide a clearer picture of what these devices will look like and how they will perform.

The new HomePod Mini 2 retains the compact, fabric-wrapped aesthetic introduced in late 2020 but shifts toward a more neutral color palette. Where the original model offered vibrant options such as orange, yellow, and blue, the leaked images suggest a move toward subtler tones. The upcoming device is expected to be available in green, pink, blue, white, and black, colors chosen specifically to blend seamlessly into modern home interiors rather than stand out as bold accents.

For mobile computing, the iPad mini 8 aims to replace the seventh-generation model that has been on the market for two years. The most significant upgrade involves processing power, with the tablet reportedly moving from the A17 Pro chip to the A20 Pro. This processor was recently unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo, promising substantial performance gains. Visual leaks indicate changes to the front-facing camera, which appears to have been relocated to the landscape edge of the display. Additionally, a groove along the top bezel suggests the addition of a secondary speaker, enhancing media consumption capabilities.

Further reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hint at additional improvements for the next iPad generation, including enhanced waterproofing facilitated by a new vibration-based speaker technology. There are also indications that the device may adopt an OLED display, aligning it more closely with the visual quality found in the larger iPad Pro models.

The television streaming box is also due for an update after nearly four years since the last iteration. Although the design of the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K appears nearly identical to its predecessor, internal components are set to see meaningful upgrades. Previous findings by Perris suggested a potential switch to the A17 Pro chip, while Gurman noted in 2024 that the device would utilize Apple’s custom N1 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip. These connectivity improvements aim to streamline wireless performance and integrate more deeply with the broader Apple ecosystem.
