Apple Has Five New Products Potentially Launching at WWDC

▼ Summary

– Apple is expected to announce only software at WWDC, but five hardware products might appear.
– M5 Mac Studio and Mac mini were anticipated for mid-year, but current supply shortages make their WWDC launch seem unlikely.
– Apple has four new Home products ready to launch, but they are waiting for the new Siri.
– The HomePad is rumored for a fall release, while new Apple TV 4K, HomePod, and HomePod mini could potentially appear at WWDC.
– Launching new Home products at WWDC would let Apple showcase tvOS 27 features and the new Siri, though this is considered unlikely.

Just over a week remains until Apple takes the stage at WWDC to reveal iOS 27, a dramatically revamped Siri, and a host of other software updates. While the expectation is that this year’s keynote will be software-focused, the possibility of surprise hardware launches always lingers. Here are five upcoming Apple products that have the best shot at making an unexpected appearance.

M5 Mac Studio and Mac mini

If you’ve been shopping for a Mac Studio or Mac mini lately, you’ve likely noticed significant backorders on many configurations. That scarcity fuels speculation that Apple is clearing inventory for an upgrade. The M5 iterations of both machines were initially projected for a mid-year release, making a WWDC debut a natural fit. These devices hold particular appeal for developers, so new models would resonate strongly with the audience in attendance.

However, the current supply constraints suggest Apple may not have new stock ready. The optimistic counterargument is that these shortages only apply to outgoing models. If Apple reserved manufacturing capacity months ago for a planned mid-year refresh, the M5 Mac Studio and Mac mini could still arrive sooner than expected.

Home Products: New Apple TV 4K, HomePod 3, and HomePod mini 2

Reports indicate Apple has been sitting on at least four new home devices that are technically ready to ship, but are waiting for one key component: the new Siri. Among these are a refreshed Apple TV 4K, a third-generation HomePod, and a second-generation HomePod mini.

The rumored HomePad is widely expected to wait until fall, when iOS 27 and the upgraded Siri roll out to all users. But the other three products could make a surprise appearance at WWDC. It’s a long shot, but Apple might launch them alongside a presentation of Siri’s expanded capabilities. Each device offers enhancements beyond voice control, so the pitch could be: “Here are great new products with exciting features today , and they’ll get the new Siri this fall.”

While I wouldn’t bet on it, this strategy would give Apple a chance to demonstrate tvOS 27 features powered by Apple Intelligence. Without new hardware, the tvOS segment at WWDC could be unusually brief.
