Google Revamps Top AI Plans, Cuts Price, Adds YouTube Premium

▼ Summary

– Google announced new AI subscription plans, including Google AI Pro ($19.99/month with 5TB storage and YouTube Premium Lite) and Google AI Ultra 5x ($99.99/month with 20TB storage and full YouTube Premium).
– The top-tier Google AI Ultra 20x plan offers 30TB storage and expanded AI usage for $199.99 per month, reduced from $250 to stay competitive with rivals like Anthropic and OpenAI.
– YouTube Premium is now bundled into top-tier Google One plans, but no plan includes the YouTube Premium Family option.
– Google switched AI Pro users to a new credit system that factors prompt complexity, features, and chat length, with one user reporting a single prompt used 13% of their monthly quota.
– Lower-tier Google One plans without premium AI features include Basic ($1.99/month for 100GB) and Standard ($2.99/month for 200GB), while free 15GB storage now may require a linked phone number.

Google has shaken up its subscription lineup at I/O 2026, merging cloud storage, AI access, and streaming into fewer, pricier bundles. The biggest headline? YouTube Premium is now part of the top-tier Google One plans, and the cost of the most expensive AI tier has dropped by $50.

The $19.99-per-month Google AI Pro plan now bundles 5TB of storage, expanded Gemini usage credits, and a YouTube Premium Lite subscription. Alongside this, Google Home Premium Standard (the rebranded Nest Aware) and Google Health Premium (launching May 26) round out the new service names.

For power users, the Google AI Ultra 5x plan costs $99.99 per month and includes 20TB of storage plus full YouTube Premium. The flagship Google AI Ultra 20x plan offers 30TB of storage and significantly more AI usage for $199.99 per month. That’s a notable price cut from $250, as Google aims to keep pace with rivals like Anthropic and OpenAI.

Integrating YouTube Premium into these high-end plans makes strategic sense, though none include the YouTube Premium Family tier. Sharing access requires an additional payment.

The $99.99 tier also provides 5x the AI Pro usage limits on Gemini tools and unlocks Google Antigravity agentic features. It comes with Gemini 3.5 Flash integration, promising “lightning-fast testing, debugging, and iteration, to keep you in a constant state of flow.”

Another new feature is Gemini Spark, a 24/7 agent that “helps you navigate your digital life, takes action on your behalf, and is under your direction.” Google says a beta rollout to US subscribers starts next week.

Google has also redesigned how AI usage is tracked. As noted by Android Authority, Google AI Pro subscribers now operate under a credit system that accounts for “the complexity of your prompt, the features that you use and the length of your chat” to determine monthly limits. One Reddit user reported that a single prompt consumed 13% of their monthly quota. Users received email notifications about the change.

Lower-tier Google One plans remain: Basic at $1.99 per month for 100GB, and Standard at $2.99 per month for 200GB. All users still get 15GB of free storage, though recent changes may require linking a phone number to your account.
