Leaked videos shared on social media by BTS member J-Hope offer an early, unscripted look at the foldable phone in its new wider design and a striking purple finish. Since Samsung has a longstanding partnership with the K-pop group, it appears this unit was provided as part of a brand collaboration but made its way into the public eye sooner than planned.

The clips, which have been circulating on Twitter/X, show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 from both the front and back. The device’s short and stout form factor is immediately noticeable, making it look almost compact compared to today’s typical smartphones. That’s a refreshing shift in an era of ever-larger slabs. According to rumors, the outer display measures just 5.5 inches, which would make the phone feel notably more pocket-friendly when closed. It’s almost cute in its proportions, a stark contrast to the elongated designs we’ve grown accustomed to.

Unfortunately, the videos do not show the phone in its unfolded state, so we’ll have to wait for the official reveal to see the full internal display. Still, the closed design alone has sparked plenty of curiosity.
