The latest wireless earbuds from Anker’s Soundcore brand are launching with a significant technological leap: the industry’s first dedicated AI chip for noise cancellation. The Liberty 5 Pro, available today for $169.99 in blue, white, black, and pink, aim to redefine what users expect from active noise reduction in a compact form.
Building on the previous generation, the new model retains the popular charging case LCD touchscreen, but Anker has moved it to the outside of the case for easier access. The display is also slightly larger at 0.96 inches, allowing users to adjust ANC levels or switch to transparency mode without pulling out their phone.
That performance boost, however, comes with a modest trade-off in battery life. With ANC enabled, the earbuds deliver up to 6.5 hours of playback, extending to a total of 28 hours when using the charging case. But Anker says the new Thus chip delivers meaningful gains elsewhere. The company claims ANC is 100 percent more effective than the Liberty 4 Pro, and voice clarity during calls has improved significantly by reducing ambient background noise. The chip also enables faster responses to 20 built-in voice commands, letting you adjust volume, control playback, or change ANC modes simply by speaking.
For those seeking an even more premium experience, Anker is also launching the Liberty 5 Pro Max at $229.99, available in black and titanium-gold finishes. These earbuds share the same battery life, an IP55 dust and water resistance rating, and support for Apple’s Find My network as the Liberty 5 Pro. The standout feature is a much larger 1.78-inch AMOLED display on top of the charging case. This screen can be used to adjust settings and control music playback, but it also introduces a unique productivity tool: the charging case itself can record conversations and meetings. Those recordings are then sent to the Soundcore app on your smartphone, which automatically generates transcripts and highlights action items, with each speaker identified.
