OpenAI has announced another major leadership shakeup, this time consolidating its product efforts under company president Greg Brockman as the firm doubles down on its push into AI agents. The restructuring, detailed in an internal memo obtained by The Verge, signals a clear strategic pivot for the company.

Brockman explained in the memo that OpenAI’s product roadmap for the year is now fully committed to AI agent technology. To execute this vision, the company is merging its product lines, creating a unified agentic platform that combines ChatGPT and Codex into a single, seamless experience. “We are investing in a single agentic platform and merging ChatGPT and Codex into one unified agentic experience for all,” Brockman wrote.

The organizational changes come on the heels of last month’s moves, when AGI boss Fidji Simo went on medical leave. At that time, OpenAI placed Brockman in charge of product strategy, while CSO Jason Kwon, CFO Sarah Friar, and CRO Denise Dresser took the reins of business operations. The latest reshuffle makes Brockman’s leadership role official, now extending to the company’s scaling arm.

Under Brockman, the structure will consist of four key pillars. Core product and platform will be led by Thibault Sottiaux, previously OpenAI’s engineering lead for Codex. Critical enterprise industries will fall under Nick Turley, the head of ChatGPT. The consumer pillar , covering areas like health, commerce, and personal finance , will be managed by Ashley Alexander, who formerly served as VP of healthcare products. Finally, core infrastructure, ads, data science, and growth will be overseen by Vijaye Raji, OpenAI’s former CTO of applications.

This restructuring is part of a broader strategic shift at OpenAI, which is now laser-focused on key revenue drivers such as coding and enterprise solutions. The company is scaling back on so-called “side quests” as it prepares for a potential IPO later this year and faces growing pressure from investors to turn a profit.

Brockman’s memo made the company’s ambition clear: “Our goal is now to bring agents to ChatGPT scale, in order to give individuals and organizations significantly more value and utility from our products.”
