Leaked Image Reveals First Confirmed iPhone Ultra Color

▼ Summary
– Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone, the “iPhone Ultra,” later this year, with a leaker sharing an image of a white dummy model.
– The white finish is the only “confirmed” color so far, with speculation that an indigo option similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue may be the alternative.
– Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports Apple will avoid vibrant colors, sticking to traditional space gray/black and silver/white finishes, similar to the iPhone X.
– Limited color choices may be due to expected low production volumes, as manufacturing challenges could constrain supply through at least 2026.
– The iPhone Ultra is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September, with a price above $2,000 and tight supply.
A leaked image has surfaced online, offering what appears to be the first confirmed look at a color option for Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone. The device, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra, is expected to debut later this year, and the image suggests a sleek white finish will be part of the lineup.
The image was shared on Weibo by the well-known leaker Ice Universe. While it likely depicts a dummy model rather than a final production unit, it aligns with earlier claims from another leaker, Instant Digital, who identified white as the only “confirmed” color so far. This marks a significant departure from the broader palette often seen in Apple’s Pro models.
What will be the second color remains unconfirmed. However, a recent report from Macworld, citing supply chain sources, suggests it could be an indigo option, similar to the Deep Blue finish expected on the iPhone 17 Pro. The same source indicated that the foldable will offer fewer choices than the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, avoiding bold or vibrant hues.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has echoed this sentiment, reporting that Apple plans to “stay away from fun colors” for the iPhone Ultra. Instead, the company is expected to stick with more traditional finishes like space gray/black and silver/white. This strategy mirrors the original iPhone X, which launched in November 2017 with just Silver and Space Gray options.
A limited color selection likely stems from the foldable’s anticipated low production volumes. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has warned that manufacturing challenges could constrain supply through at least the end of 2026. Introducing additional colors would only increase complexity and costs for an already difficult device to produce.
Given expectations of tight launch supply and a price tag above $2,000, as reported by Gurman, Apple has little reason to expand the initial color lineup. At this premium price point, buyers are also less likely to base their purchasing decision on color variety.
The iPhone Ultra is expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
