Android 16 May update fixes Pixel display, slow charging

Google has begun pushing the Android 16 QPR3 May 2026 security update to a wide range of Pixel devices, including the Pixel 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a.
The patch, dated 2026-05-01, addresses one security vulnerability. Every supported Pixel model receives the same build number: CP1A.260505.005.
Important: Bootloader Update for Pixel 10 Series Owners of the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold should note that this update includes a bootloader anti-rollback protection update. This is a security measure that prevents downgrading to older, potentially vulnerable bootloader versions. After installing the May 2026 update on these devices, you will not be able to flash or boot any previous Android 16 builds.
