Google has announced a limited-time open enrollment period for Pixel Care+, allowing existing owners of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series to sign up for device protection outside the usual window. The offer is available in the US, UK, and Japan.

The Pixel Care+ plan covers a broad range of incidents. It includes unlimited claims for accidental damage like drops, cracks, and spills. Screen and back glass repairs are offered at $0, and battery replacements are also free when the battery “retains less than 80% of original charge capacity” (other conditions apply). The plan also promises “unlimited $0 claims for post-warranty malfunctions and typically ships replacement devices the next day, subject to availability. Subscribers also get priority support from Pixel experts.

Normally, customers must add Pixel Care+ within 60 days of purchasing their device. This special enrollment window changes that. Google is accepting enrollments until August 2 for the following models: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9a. Notably, the Pixel 9 and 10 Pro Fold are excluded from this offer.

To enroll, customers must confirm their phones do not have any pre-existing issues. Google lists specific conditions that disqualify a device. These include any cracked or shattered glass on the screen or back, any signs of internal moisture or liquid damage, any pre-existing mechanical or electrical failures with buttons, charging ports, or internal components, and a swollen battery or a battery currently causing device failure. While Pixel Care+ covers battery replacements for degraded batteries, the battery must be functioning normally at enrollment.

Additionally, Google states: “Enrollment is not available for devices previously enrolled in a Pixel Care+, Preferred Care, or Google Fi Device Protection plan.”

Pixel Care+ is available on a monthly or 2-year plan. Pricing varies by model. For example, the Pixel 10 Pro costs $13 per month or $239 for two years. The Pixel 10a and Pixel 9a are the most affordable at $6 per month or $119 for two years. The standard Pixel 10 runs $9 per month or $179 for two years, while the Pixel 9 is $8 per month or $159 for two years. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL are priced at $12 per month or $199 for two years. Customers can sign up directly through the Google Store.
