Play the New Hollow Knight: Silksong Demo at Gamescom on Xbox

Fans eagerly awaiting Hollow Knight: Silksong will finally get their hands on the demo at Gamescom this year, where Xbox is showcasing the highly anticipated indie sequel. The playable build will be available at Microsoft’s booth alongside other major titles, offering attendees a first look before its expected 2025 release.

Silksong isn’t the only highlight, Xbox’s lineup includes several high-profile games making their public debut. The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, third-party portable consoles launching later this year, will also be on display. Meanwhile, The Outer Worlds 2, Xbox’s marquee first-party title for 2024 (outside of Call of Duty), will feature a “theater experience” rather than hands-on gameplay.

For those craving more interactive demos, Obsidian’s Grounded 2 will be playable, alongside Ninja Gaiden 4’s first public hands-on demo and an updated showcase for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. While Indiana Jones and the Great Circle won’t have its DLC available, the base game, already praised by critics, will be playable again.

Xbox’s booth isn’t just about first-party titles. Visitors can try demos from third-party studios, including Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Borderlands 4, and the Xbox ports of Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade.

Gamescom, the world’s largest public gaming event, runs from August 21-24 in Cologne, Germany. Xbox will occupy its usual spot in Hall 7 of the Koelnmesse, with IGN providing live coverage for those unable to attend.

Team Cherry recently confirmed Silksong remains on schedule for a late 2025 launch, ensuring fans won’t have to wait much longer after Gamescom to experience the full game.
