Datadog has successfully obtained IRAP Protected status in Australia, marking a pivotal achievement for the cloud monitoring and security provider. This certification confirms that Datadog’s services align with Australia’s rigorous security standards, offering public sector agencies and regulated industries in Australia and New Zealand greater confidence in using the platform for sensitive workloads.
The Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), managed by the Australian government, has assessed Datadog’s full suite of observability and security tools at the Protected classification level. This includes Infrastructure Monitoring, Application Performance Monitoring, Log Management, LLM Observability, Bits AI, Cloud SIEM, and Synthetics when deployed within Australian data centers. The independent assessment assures government and regulated entities that Datadog meets strict requirements for handling protected information.
Achieving IRAP Protected status significantly expands Datadog’s ability to support government bodies and regulated organizations across the A/NZ region. It strengthens trust, simplifies compliance, and helps teams quickly detect, investigate, and resolve issues across hybrid and cloud environments. This milestone also reduces procurement barriers, enabling agencies to adopt Datadog’s unified observability and security solutions more rapidly.
Fabio Carvana, Head of Managed Services at Mantel, commented, “As an Australian consultancy, Mantel has extensive experience with secure, IRAP-compliant platforms. Datadog is a vital partner for securing public sector data. Their IRAP Protected assessment is a major step forward, allowing us to deliver modern observability services with full government assurance.”
This development supports A/NZ’s digital transformation goals, helping government agencies modernize operations and meet resilience standards, including CPS 230 requirements for regulated industries. It reflects Datadog’s ongoing regional commitment, combining product innovation with strong compliance credentials.
Roz Gregory, Regional Vice President for A/NZ at Datadog, stated, “We’ve met one of the highest security benchmarks in Australia and New Zealand, eliminating adoption hurdles for the region’s most regulated sectors. Government and regulated organizations can now confidently use Datadog to monitor sensitive workloads under stringent security protocols.”
The IRAP Protected assessment follows other key certifications, such as Datadog’s FedRAMP High ‘In Process’ status in the United States, highlighting the company’s global investment in public sector readiness. Gregory added, “This designation reinforces our dedication to security, compliance, and trust for A/NZ customers. Combined with our new Australian data center presence, it shows we are committed to securely powering the region’s most essential systems.”
