OutSystems has officially launched its Agent Workbench, a powerful new platform designed to help businesses harness the potential of artificial intelligence and agentic systems. This innovative tool simplifies the creation and management of intelligent AI agents, enabling organizations to apply them across various departments, data sets, and operational workflows. Early participants in the program, including major firms like Axos Bank, Thermo Fisher Scientific, The Arch Company, Grihum Housing Finance, and TeamWork, have already reported substantial gains in operational efficiency, faster time-to-value with AI, and enhanced digital interactions for both customers and staff.

Kevin Hearn, SVP and Head of Consumer Bank Development at Axos Bank, emphasized the platform’s practical benefits. “We’re leveraging OutSystems to integrate AI capabilities without needing to hire specialized roles. Agent Workbench lets us quickly and safely build agents for targeted tasks, such as analyzing error logs and automating document data entry. This initiative marks a major milestone in our AI roadmap, helping us create a smarter, more responsive banking environment prepared for the future.”

The announcement took center stage at the OutSystems 2025 ONE Conference, the company’s premier annual gathering that unites IT leaders, developers, and global partners to explore cutting-edge developments in application and agent development. This launch arrives at a critical time: research shows that 93% of organizations are prioritizing AI agent development but face hurdles related to governance, security, integration, and scalability. As OutSystems CEO Woodson Martin explained during the event, Agent Workbench is built to manage an organization’s entire agentic ecosystem, combining data, workflows, user experiences, and intelligent agents into a single, secure, and enterprise-ready platform.

“Agentic AI represents one of the most significant opportunities for enterprise innovation and transformation,” Martin noted. “It empowers companies to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and deliver outstanding customer experiences. We developed Agent Workbench to equip our customers with the tools they need to build their agentic future. Participants in our Early Access Program have already achieved impressive outcomes, positioning them as pioneers in agentic AI adoption.”

Early Access Program participants shared specific use cases and results:

Axos Bank enhanced operational workflows and reduced employee workload by automating complex manual processes. The bank developed an intelligent log analysis agent that interprets error logs and offers actionable insights, eliminating the need for labor-intensive manual reviews. The platform also supports automated document mapping, which boosts data accuracy and staff productivity.

Thermo Fisher Scientific revamped its customer support by creating a Customer Escalation Agent. This AI solution processes unstructured data from customer interactions, removing the need for manual triage and speeding up issue resolution. The result is a more efficient support team and faster problem-solving for clients.

The Arch Company transitioned from spreadsheet-based operations to a centralized digital platform. Using a content classification agent built with Agent Workbench, the company now automatically routes customer service inquiries, replacing manual classification and enabling quicker, more accurate responses.

TeamWork introduced a support tool that provides real-time guidance and ticket information to help resolve complex cases. AI agents also handle routine, low-priority tickets automatically, freeing support staff to focus on higher-impact issues. This multi-agent setup improves both operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Grihum Housing Finance is implementing Agent Workbench to refine loan underwriting and property evaluation. Specialized agents analyze property reports and recommend technical deviations during loan origination, transforming a traditionally manual and error-prone process into a streamlined, accurate workflow.

The generally available version of Agent Workbench builds on its early access features, introducing an agent marketplace and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support to speed up automation by connecting agents directly to enterprise systems and external services. In addition to compatibility with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic models, the platform now supports newer large language models such as Gemini, Cohere, Mistral, Databricks, AI2, and IBM’s WatsonX. It also accommodates custom models on VertexAI and open-source models from HuggingFace.

Hélio Pimenta, Associate Partner at KPMG Low-Code Center of Excellence, highlighted the platform’s governance and efficiency. “Agent Workbench delivers the rapid value and governance controls that organizations expect from OutSystems. It allows teams to design, orchestrate, and deploy autonomous AI agents—handling everything from task planning to enterprise integration—while maintaining oversight through policies, auditing, and compliance across the entire lifecycle.”
