The capabilities of Nano Banana Pro represent a significant leap forward from earlier image generation systems. It enables the creation of detailed infographics and diagrams that can visualize dynamic data such as live weather updates or sports scores. A particularly useful feature is its ability to render crisp, readable text directly onto images, whether for brief captions or full paragraphs, making it ideal for designing multilingual posters or event invitations. The model also supports complex compositions by blending up to 14 different images and incorporating as many as five human subjects into a single scene.
Beyond generation, the tool offers extensive creative control for editing existing images. Users can select and modify specific sections, alter camera perspectives, introduce bokeh effects, adjust focus points, perform color grading, or transform lighting conditions, such as shifting a scene from daylight to nighttime. An important development is that all images created or edited using Nano Banana Pro will include embedded C2PA metadata. This initiative aims to improve transparency by helping platforms and users identify AI-generated content and deepfakes in the future. TikTok recently announced a similar approach, planning to use C2PA standards to watermark AI-generated material invisibly.
While the free version of Nano Banana Pro is available to everyone, it does operate with usage limits. These restrictions are lifted for subscribers to Google’s premium AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans. In the United States, the tool is also accessible through AI Mode in Search for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Additionally, it is available globally to all users of the NotebookLM research assistant, further expanding its reach to students and professionals.
