A major European tech merger is set to create the continent’s newest billion-dollar company as French and Swiss software firms join forces. LumApps, a Lyon-based internal communications platform, will combine with Swiss mobile workforce solution Beekeeper in a deal establishing a unified business valued above $1 billion.
The merger brings together two complementary technologies serving modern workplace needs. LumApps specializes in corporate intranet solutions, helping large organizations streamline internal communications and application management. Beekeeper focuses on frontline workforce engagement, offering mobile tools for messaging, shift coordination, and task automation across industries like healthcare, logistics, and customer service.
This strategic union aims to create what the companies describe as a comprehensive “employee hub” serving diverse roles – from medical professionals and transportation workers to office staff. The combined entity expects to support more than 7 million users globally while generating $150 million in annual recurring revenue. Over 600 employees will work across the merged organization.
Sébastien Ricard, LumApps’ CEO and co-founder, will lead the newly formed company from its Lyon headquarters. “This partnership allows us to deliver seamless digital experiences for every employee category in today’s evolving workplace landscape,” Ricard stated regarding the merger’s strategic vision.
Bridgepoint, the British private equity firm currently holding majority stake in LumApps, will maintain controlling interest post-merger. Final approvals are expected within weeks, potentially adding another name to Europe’s growing roster of unicorn startups. Recent entrants to the billion-dollar valuation club include German drone technology developer Quantum Systems, Swedish health diagnostics firm Neko Health, and no-code platform Lovable.
