– The discontinuation coincides with Google’s release of a new $100 Google Home Speaker designed for Gemini AI interactions.

Google is now selling only one smart speaker. The tech giant has officially discontinued the Nest Mini and Nest Audio, leaving its lineup with a single option for those looking to bring voice control into their homes. According to TechAdvisor, the Nest Mini, a compact $35 entry-level speaker first released in 2019, and the Nest Audio, a $100 model launched the same year with a larger frame and superior sound, are both being phased out.

“As we continue to build the future of the smart home, we are refining our portfolio of Google Home and Nest devices,” Google told TechAdvisor in a statement. “As part of this evolution, we have ended production of the Google Nest Mini and Google Nest Audio.”

The company also confirmed it will keep supporting existing Nest Mini and Nest Audio units with patches, security updates, and customer service. So if you own one, you won’t be left in the lurch just yet.

Ending production on products that debuted more than half a decade ago is hardly a shock. What makes this move even more predictable is that Google just unveiled a new $100 Google Home Speaker this week. That device is built specifically for Gemini AI interactions, promising a smarter, more capable assistant experience.

Still, if you’re happy with your older Nest speakers, you’ve got nothing to worry about,at least for the foreseeable future.
