Google Triples Gemini Usage Limits for Antigravity, Twice

▼ Summary
– Google introduced compute-based usage limits for Gemini AI models, causing user frustration.
– Within the Antigravity coding tool, Gemini’s usage limits were raised twice after users quickly hit the new caps.
– On Wednesday, Google 3x’d Gemini rate limits for Antigravity and reset weekly quotas for all users.
– Later, Google again 3x’d the weekly quota for Gemini models in Antigravity and reset quotas for paid plans.
– Usage limits remain unchanged for Gemini’s other tools, and Antigravity’s new limits are still lower than previous ones.
Google has made significant adjustments to Gemini usage limits in its AI-powered coding assistant, Antigravity, doubling down on user feedback by raising quotas twice in a single week , most recently tripling them again.
During Google I/O, the company unveiled a host of Gemini-related updates, including a new compute-based usage limit system across its tools and features. The change frustrated many users, but Google appears to be listening , at least in the case of Antigravity.
The first adjustment came on Wednesday, when Google tripled Gemini model rate limits for Antigravity and reset weekly quotas for all users. This move came swiftly after the initial limits went live and users quickly ran into them. Some reported hitting the cap within just an hour of use, a stark departure from the previous, more generous access.
Now, Google has taken another step. Late Thursday night, the company tripled the weekly quota for Gemini models in Antigravity. Varun Mohan, a Director at DeepMind focused on Antigravity, acknowledged that users could exhaust their weekly allowance “after a couple work sessions.” He also confirmed that quotas for all paid plans have been reset for a second time this week.
These higher caps should help users get more mileage out of Antigravity, though limits will still pose challenges. As many have pointed out, the new quotas remain lower than what was available before the changes. And for now, these adjustments apply only to Antigravity , other Gemini tools have not seen similar increases.
While Google has shown responsiveness in this specific area, the broader impact of usage limits across Gemini’s ecosystem remains a point of concern for power users.
