Limited Run Games has asked Nintendo to temporarily pull the Gex Trilogy from the Switch 2 eShop due to technical issues. The collection, featuring the beloved 90s platformer and its sequels, launched smoothly on most platforms but encountered problems on Nintendo’s latest console.

While a recent firmware update fixed compatibility issues for several other Limited Run titles using the Carbon Engine, the Gex Trilogy remains affected. The developer submitted a patch last week, but approval delays, partly due to the Juneteenth holiday, mean players must wait a little longer. In the meantime, Limited Run has requested Nintendo remove the game from the eShop until the fix is ready, expected early next week.

The company thanked fans for their patience while working with Nintendo to resolve the situation. They also confirmed other titles, including Clock Tower: Rewind, Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection, and Tomba! Special Edition, now run smoothly on Switch 2 after the update.

Despite the hiccup, the Gex Trilogy launch has been well-received. Limited Run recently announced plans to add PAL versions of Gex 2 and Gex 3, featuring original voice actors Leslie Phillips and Danny John-Jules, in a future update. This move aims to delight European fans who grew up with these iconic performances.
