Forza Horizon 6 Leaked and Cracked One Week Before Launch

▼ Summary
– A full version of Forza Horizon 6 leaked online before its May 19 release and has been cracked by pirates.
– Playground Games confirmed the leak was not due to a Steam preload issue and is taking enforcement actions, including bans.
– The game features the largest map in the series, set in Japan and Tokyo, with over 550 cars at launch.
– Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios plan to release Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 later this year.
– A pre-release version of Death Stranding 2 on PC was similarly leaked earlier this year via an unencrypted Steam preload.
A pre-release build of Playground Games’ upcoming Forza Horizon 6 has appeared on file-sharing sites over the weekend, and cracking groups have already bypassed its online protections. The leak, which totals over 150GB, surfaced after some Steam users allegedly gained access to an unencrypted version of the game.
Although Forza Horizon 6 isn’t scheduled to launch until May 19th on Xbox Series S/X and PC, pirates have already distributed cracks that circumvent the game’s required online checks. Reddit users were the first to flag the leaked files yesterday, but the platform’s legal team quickly removed the offending post.
Playground Games responded on X with a statement confirming the leak and vowing to pursue those responsible. The studio clarified that the breach was not caused by a pre-load issue. “We are aware of reports that a build of Forza Horizon 6 has been obtained prior to its release and can confirm this is not the result of a pre-load issue,” the statement read. “We are taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans. We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19.”
This incident follows a similar pattern from earlier this year, when a pre-release version of Death Stranding 2 on PC leaked after an unencrypted Steam preload allowed unauthorized downloads. While Playground has ruled out a Steam preload issue this time, the exact method behind the Forza Horizon 6 leak remains unclear.
Set to launch next week, Forza Horizon 6 transports players to Japan, featuring the neon-lit streets of Tokyo and the series’ largest map to date. The game will include more than 550 cars at launch. Additionally, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are preparing a PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 for release later this year.
