Dell is launching a refreshed series of professional laptops this spring, introducing a streamlined naming convention and thinner designs. The new Dell Pro 3, Pro 5, and Pro 7 models are scheduled for a May release, offering both Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux configurations. The Pro 3 and Pro 5 will be available in 14- and 16-inch sizes, while the Pro 7 will come in 13- and 14-inch versions, including convertible 2-in-1 options. Final pricing has not yet been announced.

These devices will feature a broad selection of processors and displays. Customers can choose between the latest AMD Ryzen AI 400 seriesGorgon Point and Intel Core Ultra Series 3Panther Lake chips. A key engineering achievement across the Pro line is a new modular motherboard design. This unified, smaller motherboard fits all three models, creating internal space for larger cooling fans and denser batteries. This innovation directly enables the thinner chassis profiles. Furthermore, the Dell Pro 5 will utilize LPCAMM2 RAM, providing user-upgradeable memory modules that deliver faster performance.

Joining the Pro series are the Dell Pro Precision 5 14S and 16S laptops, set to debut as the new entry point for the revamped Precision workstation family. Also launching in May, these 5S models will offer the same choice of Intel or AMD next-generation processors. They are positioned as lighter workstation alternatives, emphasizing powerful integrated graphics from chips like the Intel Core Ultra X9 with Arc B390 rather than dedicated GPUs.

Amidst this broader reorganization of its professional and XPS brands, Dell is also updating an existing model. The Dell Pro 14 Premium will remain in the portfolio, receiving an upgrade to Intel Panther Lake processors. It benefits from the same slimming treatment as its new Pro siblings, with its weight reduced to just over 2.2 pounds (1kg), making it the lightest laptop in Dell’s current lineup. This model is expected to arrive sooner, with a launch date projected for March 31. Its pricing also remains to be determined.
