The digital storefront for PlayStation is seeing another wave of removals, with several notable games scheduled for delisting from the PS Store in late March and throughout April. This period highlights the impermanent nature of digital storefronts, as server shutdowns and licensing issues force a number of titles offline, affecting both multiplayer experiences and single-player collections.
For players of certain live-service games, progress will carry forward. The Finals and Genshin Impact will allow players to transfer their progress to the PS5 versions once their PS4 servers are disabled. Similarly, Tower of Fantasy will be delisted in early April, but players have until October 20th to migrate their accounts, with in-game purchases being disabled in September.
Some removals have already occurred abruptly. Firewall Ultra was pulled from the store without warning on March 17th, with Sony confirming its online services will end on September 17th. The short-lived King of Meat will conclude service on April 9th, with the publisher issuing refunds for all in-game purchases due to the game’s brief lifespan. Conversely, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, which launched earlier, will see its servers shut down and be taken completely offline on April 28th.
Other games will see reduced functionality. Granblue: Fantasy Versus will have its online services scaled back on April 20th, though offline modes will remain playable. Note that this change will render some Trophies permanently unobtainable. Its successor, Granblue: Fantasy Versus Rising, is unaffected.
Perhaps the most significant removal is the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection, which will be delisted on April 1st due to expiring licensing agreements. Players who have already purchased the digital version will retain access through their library, and physical copies will remain in circulation, though their market value is likely to increase as availability dwindles.
