Following the debut of the Osmo Pocket 4 earlier this month, DJI has unveiled the DJI Mic Mini 2, the latest iteration of its smallest wireless microphone system. While this new model doesn’t pack a massive upgrade over the original, which launched in November 2024, it introduces a key feature: a swappable magnetic cover system. This allows users to customize the microphones’ appearance, either making them pop or seamlessly blending into a subject’s outfit.
As with the Osmo Pocket 4 and recent Lito drones, DJI has no plans to release the Mic Mini 2 in the United States. It is, however, available now in most other global markets. Pricing starts at €59 (approximately $69) for a bundle that includes a single mic transmitter, a compact USB-C wireless receiver, and a smaller charging case. For those needing more flexibility, a €99 (around $116) bundle offers two mic transmitters, a larger version of the wireless receiver compatible with cameras, and a charging case large enough to hold everything. Obsidian black and glaze white magnetic covers come included, while 12 additional colorful alternatives are sold separately.
The Mic Mini 2 transmitters are slightly larger and one gram heavier than their predecessors, a direct result of the redesign needed to accommodate the magnetic covers. However, they remain much smaller than the Insta360 Mic Pro transmitters, which will feature a customizable color E Ink screen. Battery life holds steady at 11.5 hours for the Mic Mini 2 with ANC turned off and 10.5 hours for the receiver. Wireless transmission distance still maxes out at just over 1,312 feet. Notably, there is still no redundant on-mic recording, but DJI teased a Mic Mini 2S version with that feature during today’s announcement, promising a launch this summer.
