Fitbit is rolling out version 4.68 of its Android and iOS apps this week, delivering a substantial update that goes beyond the recently redesigned Sleep Score. The new build brings enhanced sleep editing, personalized Coach messages, and more flexible workout recommendations to users.

For Android users, the ability to edit sleep logs has returned. Simply tap on last night’s sleep summary, open the three-dot overflow menu, and select “Edit Sleep.” Fitbit notes that this feature is “coming soon” to the iOS app.

The remaining changes center on the Coach feature. Fitbit now delivers personalized motivational messages directly in the Today tab. These appear throughout the day, including during Morning Moments, Post-Workout Summaries, and End-of-Day or End-of-Week updates.

A new Conversational Check-In feature allows users to “interact with your coach more naturally using the revamped text check-in feature.” When the Coach sends a workout, users will receive step-by-step workout guidance to follow along.

Responding to user feedback, Fitbit has made Coach recommendations more adaptable. The system now provides personalized weekly targets and tailored workout recommendations designed to align with individual health goals. For Public Preview users with existing plans, Fitbit notes that they can still download or delete scheduled plans, with the team actively iterating on the feature.

Looking ahead, Fitbit previewed the ability to adapt workout plans through conversational interactions with the Coach. Users will also see “Adapt missions or Adapt workout buttons” in the Fitness tab, though this functionality is “coming in a later update.”

Fitbit 4.68 is now available for iOS and is still rolling out to Android users.
