This strategic move highlights Qatar’s growing role as a hub for technology, media, and creative industries, bringing global digital innovation closer to local talent and businesses.
The inauguration event saw the participation of HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office, and Evan Spiegel, Founder and CEO of Snap Inc., along with other prominent figures from Qatar’s digital and governmental sectors.
HE Sheikh Jassim emphasized that Snap’s enhanced presence aligns directly with Qatar National Vision 2030, a framework focused on advancing human capital, fostering innovation, and upgrading digital infrastructure. He pointed out that equipping creators with modern digital resources is vital for transitioning toward a sustainable, knowledge-driven economy.
He further explained that the new office builds on a three-year strategic partnership between Snap and the GCO, which has already produced measurable achievements in creative sector growth and digital skills training. “This expansion strengthens our dedication to international cooperation and solidifies Qatar’s standing as a regional leader in innovation, creativity, and digital advancement,” he remarked.
