The update introduces a fresh aesthetic direction known as Liquid Glass, which adds a sleek, translucent finish across the interface. Buttons, search bars, and other elements now feature a subtle sheen, allowing underlying content to show through for a more layered and dynamic user experience.

This design philosophy extends beyond the iPhone, arriving simultaneously on iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26. During the beta testing phase, Apple refined the intensity of the Liquid Glass effect to improve readability, particularly within the Control Center.
