Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update 1.0.7 Patch Notes Revealed

Assassin’s Creed Shadows receives a substantial update today with Title Update 1.0.7, introducing New Game Plus, expanded progression systems, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. Players can now dive back into feudal Japan with fresh challenges and rewards while keeping their hard-earned gear and upgrades from their initial playthrough.

The New Game Plus mode unlocks after completing the main story, offering two starting options: beginning entirely anew or resuming from Naoe’s arrival at the hideout. All previously acquired skills, weapons, allies, and hideout upgrades carry over, ensuring a more powerful second run. Additionally, the level cap jumps from 60 to 80, while the Knowledge Rank system expands to 10, providing access to stronger abilities and deeper customization.

Ubisoft has just rolled out a substantial update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, transforming more than just the game’s version number. This patch introduces fresh incentives and crucial quality-of-life improvements, significantly refining the journey through feudal Japan for its millions of players. Those dedicated enough to complete the story in New Game Plus will now find themselves rewarded with exclusive golden katanas for both protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, a tangible symbol of their mastery. Beyond cosmetic rewards, three new achievements have also debuted, including “Enjoy the Ride” for reaching Level 80, offering a new challenge for veteran players.

The game’s economy has seen significant adjustments aimed at making progression smoother and more rewarding. Players will now find themselves earning more Mon when selling items, while purchases, conversely, require less currency. Resource acquisition has also been boosted; dismantling gear and opening seasonal chests now provide greater returns, enabling players to upgrade their arsenal and armor at a faster pace. To complement these changes, the Forge now supports Level 4 upgrades, allowing weapons and armor to scale effectively with the new level cap, ensuring gear remains relevant as players advance.

Beyond these gameplay refinements, the update diligently addresses numerous bugs that have impacted player experience. Fixes span critical areas such as quest progression, ensuring narratives flow as intended, alongside improvements to skill upgrades and the resolution of various visual glitches, including previously floating environmental objects. User interface enhancements also improve daily play, notably with a “Mark All as Read” option added to the Codex, simplifying information management.

Looking ahead, Ubisoft has confirmed another update scheduled for early September, which promises to introduce time acceleration and improved map unfogging, further streamlining exploration. The first major expansion, titled Claws of Awaji,” is set to launch on September 16 as a paid downloadable content pack, though pre-order customers will receive it without additional cost. With five million players already immersed in Shadows, the game’s future appears promising, even hinting at potential considerations for the Nintendo Switch 2. For now, fans can fully immerse themselves in a more polished and rewarding experience courtesy of today’s comprehensive update.
