Ubisoft may be gearing up to release a next-gen upgrade for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, according to a new graphic that surfaced on the game’s Xbox Store page. The image, which appears on the listing for the Definitive Edition, teases a “major update” that has not yet been officially announced by the French publisher.
The graphic highlights 4K resolution and 60 frames-per-second support, a significant technical leap for the open-world PS4 title. It also mentions a new mission called “Last Rites,” which is presumably the name of the extra quest included in the update. The image itself has sparked speculation about whether this is a planned PS5 upgrade or a broader next-gen patch.
When Ghost Recon: Wildlands first launched, it didn’t exactly wow critics. But Ubisoft’s strong post-launch support gradually improved the game’s reputation over time. The Definitive Edition already bundles all of that extra content, including two major DLC expansions, a Year 2 Pass, and several customization packs. Currently, Ghost Recon: Wildlands is locked at 30FPS and does not render in 4K even when played on PS5 via backward compatibility. So a patch that unlocks both 60FPS and true 4K would be a substantial upgrade for the title.
